The mother’s pick their own dresses and styles, and yes, it is right for the mother of the bride to pick a dress, and then let the mother in law know what it is, so they will not show up in the same dress. And no, neither one has to coordinate with the bridal party. They might conspire not to clash with it, but they are not a member of it, technically the mother of the bride, along with father of the bride are the hosts of the affair, if indeed they are paying for it. Mothers wear blue or champage, or beige, or whatever else they like and look good in. And in this case, maybe a nice pink would clash less with the raspberry. If dil wants hot colors, pick a pink that goes with the raspberry. And even redheads can wear somes shades of pink, most people look good in pink, it reflects into a person’s face, making them look healthy. Goodness, raspberry, coral and watermelon? Very bright color choices. I would hope daughter in law would want the moms to be comfortable in the color choice, and
