Does the boat sit upright on a drying out mooring?
The Norfolk Urchin and Norfolk Oyster sit completely upright on a drying out mooring. The Norfolk Gypsy will sit upright on soft ground but on hard sand or shingle the boat will lean slightly. If the owner is sleeping aboard and doesn’t want the boat heeling at low tide the best answer is to push the boat upright at low tide (very simple operation) and fit a fender under the bilge runners which will then float out when the boat floats on the next tide. Norfolk Smuggler: The boat will lean quite a lot on a drying out mooring but this is not a problem unless the owner is living on board. In this event it is necessary to fit telescopic legs (one per side) which we can supply and fit if required. However, it is not necessary to leave these legs fitted when the boat is left unattended on a mooring. Norfolk Trader 45 and 65: Due to the fact that the hulls of these vessels are entirely flat bottomed the boat will always sit completely upright when drying out on a mooring on any type of ground
