If patient had history of Munchausens disorder would that affect the way the board investigates a complaint? No witnesses exist, so what happens? Does the fact that the patient may have a civil trial ongoing affect the investigation? Would the board wait for the conclusion of the civil trial before making a conclusion? Will a TMB investigation last as long as a four or five year malpractice case? Will it allow a case to pend that long? There is no reason for a TMB investigation to take four or five years. If a malpractice case goes in a doctors favor but the Board continues its investigation that is double jeopardy. The TMB should not put formal complaints on its web site unless and until the doctor has been found liable. TMB should be able to press charges against individuals who practice medicine without a license or work more closely with law enforcement authorities to make sure charges are filed. TMB should work harder to educate the Hispanic community about illegal medical practic
