Does the blue Recon drop provide enough clearance for large patients?
Yes. Our clinical experience, to date, indicates that the clearance, even for large patients, is adequate without having to open up the proximal incision to accommodate the drop. Our designing surgeons usually put the drop on after the nail has been inserted as a convenient method for accommodating large amounts of soft tissue. In addition, the clearance with the TriGen Recon drop has been enlarged as compared to the RT system, which has a long clinical history.
