Does the Birdwing larva only feed on P. praevenosa?
They also feed on Pararistolochia laheyana which grows at higher altitudes, usually above 600 m but it has been found as low as 400 m. It is sometimes called the Mountain or Montane vine. While P. praevenosa and P. laheyana are the only known larval host vines, the larva may feed on other native Aristolochia vines growing within the range such as A. meridianalis, but there is no scientific evidence to support this.
