Does the Bible say that seven sacraments are necessary for salvation?
Rome says that “The minister of a sacrament is the one who has the power to administer it [when] he dispenses it by right of his office. The minister of a sacrament must have the intention of doing what the Church wants.”(3) Further, the Church says that “Faith and the state of grace are not required to confer the sacraments validly because the sacraments communicate grace in virtue of the rite itself.”(4) Of course, ‘the one who has the power to administer it (the sacraments), refers to the priests and their superiors (who, after all, is installed in an ‘office’ of the church to do such things?).
