Does the Bible prohibit or discourage asking questions?
No — quite the contrary. The Scripture recommends God’s children prove, test, search, study and increase in knowledge. They are encouraged to FULLY comprehend wisdom, gain understanding and to be FULLY persuaded concerning their beliefs. They are instructed to: Be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear, 1 Pet 3:15. Paul wrote long letters to answer questions. Jesus answered His disciples’ questions, but evaded some of the Pharisees’ trick questions.
