Does the Bible forbid Interracial Marriages FCC Opens Suggestions Box?
FCC Opens Suggestions Box for Broadband Plan 04.08.09 By Chloe Albanesius What should a national broadband plan look like? The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) wants to know. The agency opened up a 60-day comment period Wednesday, asking anyone with a vested interest in broadband to provide their input on how best to go forward. Specifically, the FCC wants to know the “most effective and efficient ways” to ensure national broadband, strategies for providing the most affordable high-speed Internet services, evaluations of current broadband deployments – including stimulus-related broadband grant programs, and how to use broadband to create better communities. “In spite of the fact that it springs in part from an economic downturn that has put a lot of our fellow citizens on the ropes, it signals that at long last we are getting serious about making our citizens and our country more competitive, prosperous, and fulfilled,” acting FCC Chairman Michael Copps said during today’s open
There is no evidence is either of the books of the Bible (Old or New Testament) that there is any prohibition against interracial marriage. The best argument (in my opinion) is that G-d created all things (including the color of our skin) and loves all things. Consider that Moses married an woman from what is now Ethiopia and assuming that Moses’ skin was white and his wife’s skin was black not only was that marriage not forbidden, G-d loved and protected Moses. There are prohibitions against certain marriages in the bible, but they have more to do with religious beliefs and tribal associations of the people involved and not with the color of their skin.
