Does the Bible call the Holy Ghost a second or third person in the Godhead?
No. The Holy Ghost is the one Spirit of God, the one God Himself at work in our lives. John 4:24; I Corinthians 3:16-17; 6:19; 12:13. The Father sends the Spirit through the Son. John 14:26 says, “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name..” All this isn’t necessary if the Spirit is the Father who Is the Son. This verse is meaningless otherwise. This verse could have said “I will send MY Spirit”, but it chose not to. A distinction of persons is always found in the Bible. 56. Can Trinitarians show that three divine persons were present when Jesus was baptized by John? Absolutely not. The one, omnipresent God used three simultaneous manifestations. Only one divine person was present–Jesus Christ the Lord. The word omnipresent is not found in the Bible however let’s look at what this is saying. These were not merely “simultaneous manifestations” because they interacted with each other at Christ’s baptism. God did not manifest himself in three places
