Does the basic Friendly Chemistry set include lab activities?
In Friendly Chemistry, we make references to common household items in which chemical reactions or properties of elements can be observed. Therefore, the standard Friendly Chemistry set does not include lab experiences traditionally expected to accompany a chemistry course. Traditional lab activities ARE included in the Friendly Chemistry Parents’ and Group Leaders’ Guide (available separately). These labs are kitchen chemistry-type labs which are directly correlated to the concepts being taught in the Friendly Chemistry text. All required chemicals can be purchased at a grocery store and equipment not found in or around the home can be readily purchased at a local hardware store.
