Does the baptist religion believe in divorce?

I am a Freewill Baptist and would answer this way…it makes no difference to God what the Baptist believe, nor what the Prot. believe, or even what the Catholics believe. God will judge us based upon His law and that can be found in Matthew 5 and again in Matthew 19 and God says it is wrong…God links it to Adultry which is indeed a SIN and no SIN shall enter into the gates of Heaven.

I go to a Baptist church and the church doctrine states that no person with a divorce should hold an office in the church. Do I agree with that – NO, because circumstances change. Some of the most spiritual people I know have been divorced.

Jesus said that if any man divorces his wife except on the grounds of adultery and re marries then he is guilty of adultery. Adultery is the only scriptural grounds for divorce!!!
