Does the author of a scholarship application recommendation letter have to be a UC Davis instructor?
No. As a new student you may not know anyone well enough for them to write a good letter of recommendation. It is better to have a letter from a teacher at a former school who knows you well. Try to get to know your instructors by going to office hours or even taking the professor out for lunch using the Student Housing Dean Witter Fund.
