Does the army/red cross pay for a soldiers flight from AIT to the birth of their child and back?

It is up to the family to pay. Unless it is an emergency you won’t be allowed to leave AIT to see the birth unless you happen to have a 3 or 4 day weekend and get a milage pass. Red cross is for emergencies only and with some many people in hardship they most likely would do a loan. EDIT: Who told you that? Just curious. Soldiers can’t come home from overseas to see the birth of children. Things may have changed since I was in AIT but unless you have a pass and the time off (holiday weekend) you couldn’t leave.
