No. The work of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) complements the on-going efforts of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and their work on state asthma programs. These efforts support each other. We in EPA would encourage state agencies to work with CDC but there is no requirement for an applicant to be involved in a CDC state asthma program to be eligible for an award under this solicitation. 8. Are purchases of materials to reduce the exposure of individuals to asthma triggers such as purchasing mats, air filters, ventilation, pillow covers, and mattress covers allowable expenses under this solicitation? Applicants should keep in mind that the purpose of this solicitation is to build state, territorial and tribal capacity to address the environmental triggers of childhood asthma.
