Does the Aperture plugin work in the same manner as the stand-alone desktop application?

• Although the Aperture plugin is very similar to the desktop application, there are some minor differences. The main one being that you must right-click exports and choose “Update EXIF From Master” after tagging with PlaceTagger. Drew summed it up nicely in an earlier post: QuoteWhenever you export a version from Aperture, it uses the GPS metadata that existed at the time of import, and not the current metadata in the Master or the current Aperture DB. Even though you can verify Aperture is aware of the data by looking at the Metadata tab, it ignores it when exporting. All other Aperture Edit Plug-Ins (Maperture, etc.) have the same issue. I have filed a bug report with Apple regarding this and have been told they are working on it. It will require an update to Aperture to fix this. As for the requirement to choose ‘Update EXIF From Master’ upon exiting PlaceTagger, this is a limitation of the Aperture SDK. AFAIK, there is currently no way to use the available API’s in the Aperture SD
