Does the alteration process weaken the mattress or affect its lifespan?
There are around 600 to 800 coil springs in a typical king size mattress laced with small wire and further confined by heavier wire around the perimeter. The patented Hugging Mattress adaptation process only affects 3 of the small wires for a negligible reduction in strength. Furthermore, mattress design is perfected to the point that structural failure is virtually unheard of. As with todays conventional mattresses, the life of a mattress is essentially up to the owner and their desire for a “new feel,” to reduce or eliminate body pains, or due to accidents such as spills or burns. In fact, the Hugging Mattress may enjoy a longer life by offering owners more versatility than their previous mattresses.
