Current guidance states that by 2010 all children’s centres offering early years provision (Ofsted registered full daycare integrated with early learning) are expected to employ an Early Years Professional to plan and lead the delivery of the integrated daycare and early learning provision. All children’s centres serving the 30% most deprived areas in England must offer early years provision and will therefore be expected to employ an EYP. Centres serving the other 70% of areas may offer early years provision depending on the level of local need and demand.
