Does the advent of Formativ mean that people can now write viruses that affect GroupWise?
No. People have always been able to write viruses that could affect GroupWise. Formativ is not required in order to write a GroupWise virus. The simple fact is that, to date, no one has written one that specifically targets GroupWise. Formativ does not provide a new tool for virus writers. See the section above for information on how Formativ makes it impossible for conventional script viruses to run and propagate via GroupWise. In fact, installing Formativ can make GroupWise even more secure from conventional script virus infections by allowing the user to disable the VBS/VBE file associations.
