Does the accreditation process have to be completed prior to July 14, 2009?

Yes, an OBS practice must have completed the process and received its Certificate of Accreditation on or prior to July 14, 2009. There are no plans for an extension of that date. Failure to become accredited on or before that date will constitute professional misconduct. As the Department has done before, it urges OBS practices to begin the accreditation process, if it has not done so already. NOTE: Due to the steps involved and the volume anticipated, the process may take months.
