Does the Academy make accommodations under ADA during the written examination?

Answer! After review of ADA law /regulations and research of national trends and practices, the Academy will allow extra time for someone requesting it. This request MUST be made no less than two (2) weeks in advance of the test. The request must be made in writing, have documentation of the need for such accommodation from an M.D., Psychologist, psychiatrist, learning disabilities professional, or other person qualified to diagnose and treat such disabilities. The documentation for the accommodation must have address and telephone numbers for the Academy to reach the person if necessary. The agency head or designee sponsoring the applicant for testing must also submit a letter concurring with the request for the accommodation. The Academy staff will then evaluate this material. Further information may be requested. It is the responsibility of the applicant to check with the Academy BEFORE the test date to make sure the accommodation will be granted. Question?
