Does the 8100fl support port mirroring?

0

Yes, the ProCurve Switch 8100fl enables traffic on a port to be simultaneously sent to a network analyzer for monitoring. Read additional port mirroring information below: To control the impact on performance, please consider the following guidelines: • Port mirroring can only be done in incoming traffic. • The increase in traffic effectively cuts the bandwidth of the port being mirrored in half. • If the link is over ~60% utilized (~6 Gbps), we can expect to see reduction in the throughput on that 10 Gig port. Lets say the link is 100% utilized – in this case, we would see around 4 Gbps of traffic dropped at the ingress card. • Incoming traffic that is dropped at the ingress port is not mirrored. • You can mirror a 10G target port to a 1G monitor port, but traffic volume greater than the monitor port can handle is dumped. • ProCurve recommends that you do not mirror a target port to a monitor port on the same line card. • Only one port can be mirrored in the chassis at any given time
