Of course, that same novel has Satan an indecisive schlep until it’s too late. • After the various Incarnations spent 5 books thwarting Satan’s plans in Piers Anthony’s Incarnations of Immortality series, the sixth and seventh books reveal that Satan’s entire “evil scheme” to that point was a gigantic Xanatos Gambit to try and get God to do so
