Does text-to-speech really work?
For phone message broadcasts, GroupHut uses text-to-speech technology developed by Cepstral LLC (cepstral.com). The technology is more than suitable for sending important messages quickly. Does it sound like a human? Frankly, no, it sounds like a computer that does its best to sound like a person. Recipients will know the message is computer generated, but they will understand the message, which is the important thing.
