Does Tetra Pak recycle the juice boxes?
Tetra Pak is not in the recycling business, but helps facilitate the recycling initiatives between municipalities and recyclers. The recycling process starts at a paper mill, in a machine that looks like a big blender which hydrates and detaches fibers from the layers of aluminium and plastic. Those fibres are then purified and used in the production of tissue paper and paperboard boxes, among others. The remaining aluminium and polyethylene are then sent to a plastic processing plant and recycled into plastic pellets. These are used to create other plastic products through mould-injection. Doing so, the three components of a Tetra Brik® Aseptic package can be recycled. Read more about recycling of Tetra Pak packages. back to top How do I get Tetra Pak’s annual report?
