Does taking AP classes in High School mean…?

Taking the AP class means NOTHING, unless you take the AP Exam. It’s the AP exam that determines whether or not you will recieve college credit. Scores range from 0-5, with 5 being excellent, and 3 being average. Most colleges will ONLY accept scores of 3 or better to give you college credit of an equivalent cource (AP English Comp might give you college credite for an English 101 class). Sometimes it’s required to have a score of 4 or better to get credit. But without that AP exam, you get nothing to count for college. So make sure to score HIGH on those exams. That’s all that matters. If you take a lot of AP classes, you can probably get about the equivalent of one semester of classes done, on college level. If you take BOTH English AP exams, U.S history AP exam, U.S. Government exam, and either a Calculus AB AP exam or Statistics AP exam… than that’s 4 classes, about one semester of college. Good luck on those exams!
