Does synthetic turf get hot in the sun?
Yes. As with any plastic product, synthetic grass does heat up in the sun. However, typically turf will not continue to radiate heat when out of direct sunlight, as the surface area of the blades tend to dissipate heat quickly as compared to concrete which retains and radiates heat for a much longer period. Typically synthetic grass exposed to direct sunlight will feel at least 10 degrees warmer than real grass, and sometimes warmer. On excessively hot days some synthetic grass owners will “mist” the turf with water to dissipate heat.
