Does Swiss German have any tenses in it and can Berlin dialect speakers understand it.?

The Swiss German dialects (and there are many: every “Kanton” (administrative province) has its peculiarities and one can quickly trace people where they come from if one has some overall knowledge about these dialects) have tenses and a grammatical structure like High German. I have serious doubts that a Berliner would understand a Swiss who would solely use his dialect and vice versa. However, the Swiss in the German Swiss areas learn High German in school and use that when they talk to Germans from Germany and Austria. They just maintain a nice Swiss German accent when they speak High German.
