Nothing in your diet can make you fat, or remove fat from your body. You will store fat if you aren’t using it (either because you are using a lot of sugar (as fuel for vigorous movements) instead, or because you aren’t using much fuel at all). If you are DOING a lot of movements that burn fat (these are effortlessly gentle, and endlessly continuous; they activate ‘slow-twitch’ muscle fibres only), then more fat will be released from storage sites in your body, to provide extra fuel. Eating a lot of procesed foods can reduce your motivation, and prevent you from moving around as much. Foods with artificial additives, including added sugars, added vitamins, or added fibre, are particularly good at confusing your body. This effect CAN make you fatter when you eat one product than you will be if you eat another. ‘Wholemeal’ bread, made from any kind of grain, is better for you than any kind of ‘purified’ or ‘enriched’ loaf. The flavour of wholemeal bread doesn’t need any additives or enha
