Does SUNY offer Early Decision or Early Action? Whats the difference?
Several SUNY campuses offer either early decision or early action. Early decision is a binding program for fall freshmen and can be used for one college choice only. The student, a parent and counselor must sign-off on the application indicating an understanding to agree by the terms of the Early Decision contract. The participating schools are: Buffalo State College, University at Buffalo, NYS College of Ceramics at Alfred University, Cortland, Fredonia, Geneseo, Maritime, Old Westbury, Oswego, Plattsburgh, Purchase and SUNYIT. Early decision applications are due November 1. If admitted, you will be asked to make a tuition deposit by January 15 and withdraw all other college applications. Early action is a non-binding early application/notification program for fall freshman available at Albany, Binghamton, Stony Brook, Environmental Science and Forestry, New Paltz, and Oneonta.
