Does Stanford offer interviews?
In the past, Stanford has not offered interviews either on campus with admission officers or with alumni. For the 2008-09 admission cycle the Office of Undergraduate Admission will offer an optional alumni interview to applicants in six cities, which will make up only about 4% of our applicant pool. This is a small pilot program, which we will evaluate in the spring to determine whether or not to expand. The cities involved in the interview pilot program are Atlanta, Denver, London, New York City, Philadelphia and Portland. Interviews will be offered only to applicants who attend high school in selected zip codes within those regions. You may not travel to a pilot city to have an interview. If you are eligible to be a part of the pilot interview program, an alumnus or alumna will call you after you have submitted your application. You do not need to do anything – if an interview is available to you, you will hear from us. Please do not call or email the Office of Undergraduate Admissio
