Does Springboard keep records on young people?
A. If the Springboard Service is contacted about a young person or a young person is receiving a service we will record information about the young person’s circumstances. This information could be in a paper file or on computer. The Data Protection Act 1998 gives organisations like Springboard responsibilities on how they keep information, and these responsibilities include keeping records properly, being clear about who can see records, young people’s rights to know what is recorded about them and to access their file. Springboard has produced a leaflet ‘Springboard…On The Record’ to provide young people with information about the records and files that Springboard keep.
