Does Spray Foam Insulation need fire protection?

0

Like all insulations, spray foam products must be protected by an approved thermal (fire) barrier such as drywall and conform to local building codes and regulations. Locations such as attics and crawl spaces do not require a thermal barrier if they are not habitable. In a commercial or industrial application a spray applied Portland Cement Thermal Barrier such as Grace: Monokote Z – 3306 or similar product can be used.
