DOES SPONSORSHIP CAUSE PROBLEMS WITH JEALOUSY AND STRIFE WITHIN THE COMMUNITY?
Jealousy and strife are always a potential danger when working with small communities. Signpost therefore makes every effort not to be the cause of any upset between families and local communities – in this respect (as explained above) Signpost will only sponsor only one child per family in a community. Signpost also limits the value of presents sponsors can send to their sponsored children to £10, to avoid jealousy between families and sponsored children themselves. However, in most cases, people realise that we are trying to help the wider community through the child sponsorship scheme, not just one child or family, and they are happy for the help received.
