Does sperm DNA change over a lifespan?
Irrespective of your lifestyle each sperm cell that you produce will have, on average, about 80 mutations in it that make it different to your DNA code. So the sperm that makes the 2 children will differ (as will the ovum even if its from the same mother) All DNA replication is imperfect, every time one of your cells divides there are going to be some mutations in the DNA. However the majority of your DNA is not functional so mutations there have negligible effect and many others will have little effect. Lifestyle factors will only have a genetic effect if they cause mutation in the cells that actually produce sperm, using drugs that fry your brain will have no effect if they don’t affect the testes. Of the ones you have quoted I don’t think any of them do so and are not inheritable traits. e.g. Cocaine additiction is not inherited via DNA (although possible physiological characteristics that affect the level and speed of addiction may be). Now it is possible that you posses some inher
