Does space dust settle on orbiting space shuttles?

I’d like to add to BAM’s answer (who said that no, the dust doesn’t settle because in fact the shuttle is flying at tremendous speed). Space dust doesn’t “settle” on the shuttle, but it does HIT the shuttle and leave it covered with tiny pits. So far, we’ve been lucky and have not run into a larger piece of “space junk” that might do damage when we smack into it.

No, the space shuttle and all its surrounding debris are constantly hurling around the earth in orbit. You may see astronauts calmly repairing the outside of the station but they are actually “flying” at large amounts of speed.
