I never heard of that before, so I looked it up on the internet. Apparently, some experimentation with lab rats shows that a diet high in soy may raise thyroxine levels. I don’t think all the facts are in, and I have no idea if this is applicable to humans. Some other information shows that babies who were given soy milk developed thyroid problems. But this is somewhat controversial because some critics say the babies were also low on iodine (which causes hypothyroidism); and the condition improved when iodine was added to their diets. My wife is a Dietitian in a hospital, and I never heard of a precaution with soy products for people with thyroid problems or taking thyroid medication. It’s her job to know what foods interact badly with certain diseases or medications and make sure the patient has an appropriate diet. Not that I am aware of, i am vegetarian and eat loads of soya and have been on thyroxine for 5 years.
