Does South Dakota have a continuing education requirement for plumbers?

No. The Plumbing Commission, however, does periodically conduct code classes that are optional to licensees. Licensees are notified in advance of a class that will be held in their area.

Yes, South Dakota does have Continuing Education requirements.  You need 4 hours of state approved code related CE every year to renew your license.  See South Dakota’s Plumbing Commission website here for more information.

I personally use cemadesimple.com to easily take care of my continuing education requirements.  It’s online and all you need is a UPC code book.  You don’t have to waste time attending a boring seminar or take time off work.
