hard line socialist governments like those in Cuba and Venezuela do not. But even soft socialist countries like Canada and Mexico do not like it. Just like in the Soviet Union of the 1980s, you could “freely” dissent, but you wouldn’t get any of the benefits of the socialist welfare state.

LOL @ the first answer. Dissent is tolerated far more in Canada than it is in the USA.

The extreme Right certainly didn’t. Remember Bush’s If you’re not with me you’re against me statement. Remember the terrorist list that thousands of Americans were on. I Its good to voice an opinion of dissent, but try to have an alternate solution.
