Snap Edge should always be installed directly on top of the compacted aggregate base for proper support and to allow the spikes to grip securely. Bedding sand should be removed from the area where the edge restraint is to be installed; use the side of a trowel to remove the sand while being careful not to disturb the sand under the pavers on the edge.
