It does indeed. Not only does it use 1/10th the energy of a typical automobile, SkyTran produces absolutely no direct pollution. If SkyTran gets its electricity from renewable sources, it won’t even create indirect pollution. Even if it uses electricity from coal, coal power plants are far more environmentally friendly than cars. SkyTran has the potential to greatly reduce air pollution and carbon emissions for transportation, and even make transportation carbon-neutral. Pollution causes a miriad of problems including disease, crop damage, global warming, shortage of land, etc. One day, we may enjoy electricity that has no environmental side effects.
