Does Siracha red chili sauce need to be refrigerated?
If it doesn’t say on the bottle, then it doesn’t need to be refrigerated. @Andrew: If something needed to be refrigerated for health purposes, then restaurants would need to keep that item refrigerated no matter how quickly they go through it (otherwise they’d be in violation of health code). Ketchup is the same way: it doesn’t need to be refrigerated (usually the bottle says nothing about refrigeration). However, all that being said, I refrigerate both Siracha sauce and ketchup. My boyfriend, however objects to refrigerated ketchup and prefers it at room-temperature. It’s an ongoing battle that I usually win because I’m the one who usually puts food away after meals!
