Does SIPA accept transfer students?
You cannot apply to SIPA as a transfer student. However, advanced standing may be granted based on previous graduate-level coursework completed. This is awarded on a case-by-case basis only after a student is admitted to SIPA. You must submit a standard application and be admitted; at the time of registration you can arrange for a review of your previous coursework and advanced standing may be granted. Please note: We will not offer a formal individual assessment of what graduate-level work will be accepted for advanced standing before you are admitted to SIPA. A student may receive advanced standing credits worth up to 12 points for the MIA and MPA programs. At least forty-two points in residence are required for a master degree issued in New York State.
