While the Provisional I.R.A.’s campaign ended in the ceasefire and Good Friday Agreement Sinn Fein is still in full swing with the new Northern Ireland Office. SInn Fein’s main goal is a 32 County Republic but now also has many other responsabilities. The main reason Sinn Fein is in office anywhere is because of its Republican Nationalist views. To sum it up, Sinn Fein’s overall goal is to unite Ireland but not its sole focus anymore. Republican Sinn Fein(which split from Sinn Fein in 1986), on the other hand’s, sole focus is the unification of a 32 county Irish Republic.
