Yes, Sinad has shown interest over the years in Rastafarianism. On October 3rd, 1992, Sinad made her infamous on SNL with her rendition of Bob Marley’s song “War.” During that performance, Sinad wore the Star of David which she said symbolized her interest in Rastafarianism not Judaism. In 1995, Sinad recorded the song “Empire” with Benjamin Zephaniah. The song has many Rastafrian/African sounds and ryhthms. In 1998, during an interview with a CBS reporter, Sinad said that she was influenced heavily by the music of Bob Marley, who experimented with many different Rastafarian, Jazzy and African sounds and frequently spoke out against the practice of opression.
