Does SIC support access to COM objects?

Yes. Normally SIC encapsulate interfaces in COM object and only use the encapsulated functions. When migrating to another platform, only underline objects are affected. The current release encapsulates Adobe Acrobat form processing objects and Microsoft Office objects.
