Does SheerVideo support film, 2K, Cineon Half, or Cineon resolution?
Yes, all Sheer encoders and decoders support all digitized film resolutions, including 2K (2048 x 1152 and 2048 x 1536), Cineon Half (1828 x 1332), Cineon (3656 x 2048) and on up, in all supported pixel formats. In fact, on a moderately fast personal computer such as a dual-CPU 1.25 GHz Mac G4, SheerVideo is more than 50% faster (250 MiB/s) than the 2K wide-screen scanned film, which, at 2048 x 1152 RGB 8b pixels per frame and 24 frames per second, works out to 162 MiB/s. Real-time digitized film editing, however, requires a faster computer.
