Does she usually use playback or does she sing live?
In her solo career, Melanie has never done a concert using playback. She says: “I think when you go to see bands you don’t go to see them mime.” As for TV shows, Melanie sometimes mimes: “I’ve learned that it’s sometimes better, to mime. When you got a packed schedule and there is no chance to do a soundcheck or your own crew isn’t responsible for the sound then it does make more sense although I wish I could sing live everywhere.
