Does selling out for the movie rights mean selling out TV fans?
Yes, it does for 24 fans. Season eight worked hard to build Jack Bauer’s (Kiefer Sutherland) quest for revenge against the people responsible for Renee Walker’s (Annie Wersching) death but failed to go all the way with the story. It was also hard to understand why Jack snapped the way he did. Was it because he was betrayed by President Taylor (Cherry Jones) or annoyed that psychos like Dana Walsh (Katee Sackhoff) could get away with murder? He bent over backwards to kill anyone in his path and he just stopped short of assassinating the Russian President. The logical solution for such an explosive plotline would have either been to finish what he started or kill him before he could. Surprisingly, his friend Chloe (Mary Lynn Rajskub) was able to talk him down through logical reasoning. Jack’s disgraceful exit by fleeing the country after his crime spree prepared audiences for the eventual 24 movie, but it was a boring way to end such an explosive series. They should’ve either killed him
