Does sediment deposit horozontally in transgressions?
Hi — I’m having serious problems with a creationist who insists that a certain video shows that scientists have “got it all wrong.” I guess I carry on these conversations because I enjoy learning about science in order to provide rebuttals. Unfortunately, I can’t seem to find much information about this. I think it’s got something to do with marine transgressions but can someone tell me if sediment really gets deposited in the way this video claims? (It obviously wants you to think that strata are younger than they appear if the law of superposition is applied, and that the fossil record as we understand it is all wrong.) “Drama in the Rocks” Part 2 I seriously suggest you don’t watch part one for fear of a brain hemorrhage. I didn’t bother watching parts three or four myself. I did, by the way, explain that transgressions aren’t usually hard to spot; that index fossils and isotope dating of calcium and oxygen can also identify layers; and that radiometric dating of igneous layers abo
