Does Seattle Timberworks harvest trees in an environmentally responsible way?

Absolutely this is a topic of particular pride for our company. Small Douglas fir trees from overgrown re-forestation sites in the state of Washington are hand selected to make Seattle Timberworks furnishings. These trees, stunted and no longer healthy, are of little value to the timber industry. Previously discarded as waste by loggers (and often burned in slash piles) these trees are carefully harvested through a process known as pre-commercial thinning. In doing so we improve the conditions of the remaining forest habitat and help the timber industry reduce its impact on the environment.
